Boats & Bluegrass '24: Roe Family Singers
Boats annnnd!... That’s right, it’s that time of year again; Boats and Bluegrass 2024 has sailed its way to Winona before reembarking on its journey down the mighty Mississippi. But there's no need to be Blue about this Bluegrass because KQAL was there to record this year’s festival for ya, and we will be playing these years boot stomping bands, all autumn long.
Tonight, we bring you Minnesota based band The Roe Family Singers. This hard working band started its life as a tribute to the passing of Johnny Cash and June Carter in 2003. 20 years later this husband and wife fronted extravaganza has cemented itself as a multi gene ra, i meant genre, band playing old time rock and roll hits as well as nitty gritty bluegrass music, that spreads good vibes wherever it goes.
I’m Abby Hawkey telling you to get out that washboard and don't forget to call your mom as we bring you the Roe Family Singers, LIVE from Boats and Bluegrass 2024 tonight on the Live Feed.
Original Airdate: 11/01/24
The Live Feed is produced by KQAL FM on the campus of Winona State University and is made possible by a grant from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
